Climber falls on Mt Barney
A ROCK climber yesterday fell hundreds of metres down Mount Barney, 90km southwest of Brisbane.
The man was one of three people scaling the eastern cliff face when he fell about 1pm.
Police and a rescue helicopter were scrambled to help find the missing climber. It’s unclear how the disaster unfolded but police were communicating with the other two climbers on the cliff, who were unable to see their friend.
A police search and rescue co-ordinator was managing the scene last night.
