Neu­ro­log­i­cal groups lobby to re­verse loss of fund­ing

FOUR neu­ro­log­i­cal or­gan­i­sa­tions are lob­by­ing Vic­to­ria’s Gov­ern­ment to re­verse its de­ci­sion to with­draw health in­for­ma­tion fund­ing from next July.

Epilepsy Foun­da­tion, MND Vic­to­ria, Mul­ti­ple Sclero­sis Lim­ited and Parkin­son’s Vic­to­ria Ltd are push­ing for a $5 mil­lion a year com­mit­ment to con­tinue health in­for­ma­tion and sup­port ser­vices that will not be funded un­der the NDIS. Neu­ro­log­i­cal Al­liance said 80 per cent of the 80,000 Vic­to­ri­ans with neu­ro­log­i­cal con­di­tions do not qual­ify for NDIS.
