The Sunday Mail (Queensland) - - CONFIDENTIAL -

WHEN selecting a host for an event, it’s important to choose wisely.

And choosing a Eumundi barrel racer to MC a Brisbane fashion event probably didn’t follow that rule.

Former Australian Survivor finalist Tara Pitt (pictured) was in a tad over her head when she arrived to MC the Apex Australia Teenage Fashion and Arts (AATFA) Youth Festival at Mount Gravatt last weekend.

Clearly having neglected to read over the script, she stumbled through a series of mispronunciations as she struggled to keep up with the fashion lingo. It was hard not to feel for Pitt as she pronounced chic as “chick” and viscose as “vis-cos-cee” and fumbled her way through four long fashion parades as audience members attempted to muffle their giggles. The Eumundi mum had a laugh as she admitted her knowledge of fashion was limited. As endearing as it was painful, it was a lesson in coming prepared.
