ALL CREATURES GREBE AND SMALL
SPANISH SPANIS wildlife photographer Jose Luis Ruiz Jiménez’s stunning images have won him an international accolade.
The Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition will be on display at the Australian National Maritime Museum until October 31. Jiménez took out the top prize with intimate photos of a family of great crested grebes (above). He spent hours in chest high water to capture the animals in their natural habitat. Jaime Culebras, also of Spain, won the prize for Behaviour: Amphibians and Reptiles with his shot (right) of a Manduriacu glass frog snacking on a spider in the foothills of the Andes, northwestern Ecuador.
Songda Cai, from China, took top honours for the Under Water category with his photograph of tiny diamondback squid paralarva (far right).
