Striker fails to front up

- CARLY ADNO

SCOTT McDonald was a noshow for Brisbane Roar against Macarthur FC, with coach Warren Moon describing the experienced striker’s absence as “frustrating”.

Brisbane snapped an eightgame losing streak with a crucial 2-1 win away from home against the A-League newbies on Friday, with Dylan WenzelHalls and Riku Danzaki scoring either side of half time.

But former Socceroo McDonald was curiously absent from the squad, despite making his return from injury against the Western Sydney Wanderers last week.

“It’s pretty unclear, to be honest,” Moon said.

“He was training on Friday, we thought he would be travelling, but unfortunately he wasn’t.

“Not too much to update on that, we’ll have to get back to Brisbane and find out what the situation is. It’s frustrating.”
