IT’S COMPLICATED

Monday 6.15pm, Showtime Premiere (M) ★★

The Sunday Telegraph (Sydney) - TV Guide - - Movie -

It’s Complicated isn’t very complicated at all, really – a fairly typical romantic comedy aimed at baby-boomers, written and directed by Nancy Meyers. It is saved from disappearing into the mush of dozens of similar movies by its outstanding cast, led by Meryl Streep.

Jane ( Streep) is 10 years divorced from Jake (a wonderfully over the top Alec Baldwin), who left her for a younger woman. Then she meets Adam (an understated Steve Martin), a sensitive architect who wants to do more than redesign her kitchen. Then she suddenly finds herself in the sack with Jake again.

Well, it’s kind of complicated.
