What began as a stage play should never have worked so well on screen, so all credit to writer Peter Morgan for the adaptation of his own work and the prolific Ron Howard for maintaining the drama in such a familiar story.

Powerful performances from Frank Langella as Richard Nixon, the disgraced 37th president of the US, and Michael Sheen as the upstart British TV interviewer David Frost who finally drew out of Nixon a post-Watergate admission of wrongdoing – and his infamous words: “I let down the American people.”
