The Sunday Telegraph (Sydney) - TV Guide - - Sunday Highlights - – DS

This series had hit written all over it from its first outing, and tonight’s 90-minute season finale shows why. It’s filled with delicious twists, turns, disappointments and skulduggery. Watching stitched-up butler Carson (Jim Carter) coming to grips with that new-fangled piece of technology, the telephone, is hilarious. The season closer will give you answers you never expected, no shortage of shock announcements and some delicious cliff-hangers. It’s as slippery as the bar of soap, which ... ah, that would be giving away too much. The series has won or finished second in the ratings every night it has aired, and never slipped below 1.5 million viewers. The good news is there is a season two. The bad news is you’ll have to wait – it’s still in production in the UK. Word is British critics will get a look at it at the end of July.
