In fascist Spain in 1944, a bookish young girl ( Ivana Baquero) moves to an isolated homestead with her mother ( Maribel Verdu) and stepfather ( Sergi Lopez), a sadistic army officer, and discovers an eerie fantasy world. Pan’s Labyrinth is ranked by many among the top 10 movies of the decade. A fairytale that is not for children, masterfully crafted by Mexican director Guillermo del Toro, it moves between fantasy and the real world.
