Russell Crowe probably should have won his second Oscar for his role in Ron Howard’s excellent film about the life of famous mathematician John Forbes Nash, but that’s another story. Crowe certainly left us with another outstanding performance as the brilliant but tortured Nash who endured a lifelong struggle with schizophrenia – genius and demons somehow finding a way to co-exist. In 1994, John Nash was awarded the Nobel prize in economics. Howard turns the movie into something of a tearjerker towards the end, but in the main it succeeds admirably.
