Jason Reitman’s dark-ish comedy has plenty to say, plus an appealing cast obviously relishing a script (by Reitman and Sheldon Turner, from Walter Kim’s novel) that really has the smarts. Ryan Bingham (George Clooney) is a “career transition counsellor” (read corporate hatchet man) who flies around the US firing people. A one-night stand with Alex ( Vera Farmiga) turns into a little more and Ryan is suddenly saddled with Natalie (a scene-stealing Anna Kendrick), who will rock his world.
