In 1938, thou­sands of Amer­i­cans went into a panic and it was all be­cause Or­son Welles did a ra­dio ver­sion of HG Wells clas­sic TheWarofth­eWorlds. Many lis­ten­ers thought the show was real and the coun­try was be­ing in­vaded by Mar­tians. This fas­ci­nat­ing doc­u­men­tary co­in­cides with the 100th an­niver­sary of Welles’ birth.
