SETTLE in for the best – and arguably boldest – Australian drama series to hit our screens in years. This six-part adaptation of Joan Lindsay’s novel moves in a new direction to the Peter Weir film but with no less impact.

Starring cover girl Natalie Dormer – with a local cast of excellence including Ruby Rees, Lily Sullivan, Madeleine Madden and Yael Stone – this unravels its mystery on its terms … slow and languid like the summer sun in some places; shocking and uncomfortable in others.

As I’ve written previously, it delivers on all the ambition of Foxtel and Fremantle Media – with special props to director Larysa Kondracki and writer Beatrix Christian for their confidence in making this iconic story their own.
