THE sec­ond sea­son of has backed off a lit­tle on the bo­nanza of breasts bounc­ing around ev­ery episode – but has upped the vi­o­lence.

The an­droids have taken over the park and we fol­low the bril­liant Maeve (Thandie New­ton) as she searches for her daugh­ter, the gen­tle Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood, right) as she un­leashes her fury on the hu­mans she finds and the con­flicted Bernard (Jef­frey Wright) as he strug­gles to dis­cover the mean­ing in his ex­is­tence.

Sea­son two has left the source ma­te­rial a long way be­hind and it ap­pears to be the bet­ter for it. The ex­is­ten­tial ques­tions about hu­man­ity, con­science and even what is life it­self are still in play but the en­ter­tain­ment has been in­creased.
