A FIERCE COMPETITION

The Sunday Telegraph (Sydney) - TV Guide - - Don't Miss This Week.. -

THERE’S no without Tyra Banks (pictured). Last year she opted not to host – singer Rita Ora stepped in – but Banks is back to front the show she created in 2003.

For the first time there is no age cap on models (though the minimum age is still 18), which means you’ll see a grandmother, 42, competing against women half her age. Colour, ethnicity and weight are no barriers – instead competitors must be “next-level fierce,” or face random eviction at any time.

Banks talks a big game about changing the industry, and she delivers. Tall, willowy blondes elicit a yawn. There’s a young girl proudly showing off her stretchmarks and cellulite. The models in the waiting room are arguing about politics.

has evolved, in a very good way.
