WITH this year’s Bledisloe Cup contests looming next month, it seems almost unpatriotic to recommend this fascinating, six-hour documentary series on Australia’s trans-Tasman rivals. So consider it a ‘better the devil you know’ exercise, drawing the black curtain back a little and going inside the team’s training sessions and personal lives.

While there are few state secrets revealed (after all, this is the team which accused the Wallabies of bugging their Sydney hotel room), the access is really quite amazing – with all coaches and major players allowing the cameras to follow them into their family homes or during private moments on tour.

Maybe it’s my Ngai Tahu blood, which stirs with every performance of the haka, but this is a must-watch.
