PARTING is such sweet sorrow, when the company has been so wonderful, the writing so brave and the production’s impact on its audience so profound.

It was no small feat that fans of this show played a major part in its revival, after being dropped by Seven in 2014. Viewers embraced the good people of Inverness and the drama around Ash Park; the family pile of the Blighs – led by matriarch Elisabeth and her mannered and gentle son George.

The series took on some important issues, breaking down prejudices and taboos that in some instances still prevail in real small towns around Australia.

Bevan Lee proved his mastery of romance and drama, evoking so much empathy for his characters; even the villainous ones.
