STAGE SET FOR A THRILLER

The Sunday Telegraph (Sydney) - TV Guide - - News -

JUST who will contest today’s AFL blockbuster was still to be decided before we went to print, but is grand final day ever really just about the game?

Last year’s highlight for me was seeing Richmond Tigers spearhead Jack Riewoldt (pictured) storm the stage and absolutely slay alongside rockers The Killers during their postmatch show, joining in on their biggest hit

This year’s entertainment bill shows plenty of promise, with the Black Eyed Peas and Jimmy Barnes both ready to rock the MCG. The choice of the Peas (minus Fergie) has divided fans, but it’s worth remembering they played the Super Bowl back in 2011, so know how to set sports stadiums on fire.

Over on Fox Footy, their line-up will also include one of the pre-game highlights – with Cyril Rioli to compete in the Longest Kick Competition (10.30am); marking his return to the footy spotlight, after retiring mid-season. Oh, and for those tuning in just for the game itself, the bounce is expected at 2.30pm.
