But the six episodes of don’t re­volve around that one mo­ment in his­tory but bring to­gether archival footage, oral his­to­ries and arte­facts to tell the sto­ries of the men and women be­hind the scenes who helped get those as­tro­nauts off Earth, into or­bit and onto the moon. Some of the fas­ci­nat­ing footage in­cludes NASA’s own de­brief­ings of as­tro­nauts on their re­turn to Earth. The open­ing episode “Rocket Fever” cap­tures the ur­gent space race which erupted af­ter the Soviet Union launched its first satel­lite Sput­nik.
