FINALLY LAID TO REST

The Sunday Telegraph (Sydney) - TV Guide - - THE WEEK’S TOP SHOWS -

AFTER four intriguing and emotional seasons, it’s the end of the line for our favourite group of people returned from the dead (aka the Risen). As catastrophic bushfires approach Yoorana, the group is forced to confront their fears about life and death. It’s poignant stuff watching everybody wrangle with their own personal demons, make sacrifices and ultimately find peace with what has come to pass. While James (Patrick Brammall) and William (Rodger Corser) have long since episode’s close, every one of the Risen will, to varying degrees, have received closure in the life they lost and the second chance they got to right past wrongs. It is a bittersweet ending. But let’s be honest, this series was never going to give us a happily ever after with James and Kate riding off into the sunset together to raise his daughter. But rest assured that this final episode will provide satisfying answers to many lingering questions about the Risen without tying everything up in a neat bow.
