GREEN ON TRACK FOR 2018 RETURN
LUNGE by lunge, netball veteran Kim Green is closer to the comeback she was planning the moment the pain cleared after rupturing her ACL.
It will come around three months after she fell to the ground in agony — and just a third of the way through the nine months doctors originally said it would take her to fully recover from the knee injury.
“We are taking it one day at a time. I still need to get my hamstring strength back,” said the ex-Diamonds and Giants captain. “But I hope to be running in the next few weeks.
“I have 10 months to get back on court. I’m not stressed.” Green said she never doubted she would be back in 2018.
“I couldn’t go out this way, no way,” Green said. “I want to go out fighting. That’s the plan. To be back on court next year like it never happened.’’
Green’s teammates head to Canberra to take on the Vixens today in what many believe could be a preview of this year’s Super Netball decider. The Giants will be out to avenge their round-six loss to the Vixens.
