Low-main­te­nance wins out

FOR­GET bay views, low main­te­nance was the cru­cial fac­tor for the auc­tion suc­cess of a home at Car­ing­bah South.

The ul­tra-mod­ern, tri-level house with four bed­rooms, three bath­rooms, two car spots and Bur­ra­neer Bay views at 166 Gan­nons Rd sold for $1,992,500. The re­serve was $1.9 mil­lion for the home on a 586sqm block.

Auc­tion­eer Andrew Coo­ley of Coo­ley Auc­tions took a first bid of $1.82 mil­lion. It went up in $20,000 in­cre­ments and slowed to smaller in­cre­ments af­ter it hit $1.9 mil­lion.

A Car­ing­bah South ex­ec­u­tive cou­ple won the day.

Agent Alex Pit­sis of Greg Gil­bert Real Es­tate Cronulla said it was a great re­sult. “We had good num­bers through and there is good con­fi­dence with buy­ers; we’re still in a strong mar­ket,” he said.
