Nuptials woo who’s who
IT was billed as Sydney’s society wedding of the year and yesterday’s nuptials of mega-rich importing tycoon
Neville Crichton and his young bride, former Christian Dior boutique manager Nadi
Hasandedic, didn’t disappoint. Held in the stately surrounds of the University of Sydney’s Great Hall before a high-powered guest list that tipped the 250 mark, the wedding was attended by a who’s who of Sydney’s business, entertainment, hospitality and sporting heavy-hitters, including Kerri
Anne and John Kennerley (the latter in his motorised wheelchair following his wellpublicised fall last March).
Also resplendent in their wedding finery were Aussie Home Loans founder John
Symond and his wife Amber, retired league great Ben Elias and property development extraordinaire John Boyd (who also served as best man).
Other well-known wn faces on the guest list were re
Justin Hemmes and d
partner Kate Fowler, who are expecting their second child in August, along with Michael and Judy McMahon, the owners of the happy y couple’s favourite restaurant Catalina. (Despite this, it was Hemmes who scored the catering gig for the lavish reception, with a menu curated by Sydney food scion
John Wilson as part of the new Merivale catering arm). But Hasandedic was the unrivalled star of the show, with the 38-year-old emerging from her gold RollsRoyce limousine in a breathtaking, champagnehued beaded gown custom made for the Bosnian-born bride by Romanian bridal design house Ersa Atelier.
Bucking the usual bridal trend, Hasandedic reserved the all-white gowns for her four bridesmaids, who were outfitted in stunning satin gowns with capped sleeves.
It’s understood the bridal dress, which required several fitting trips to New York, helped tip the wedding budget to around the $1 million mark, not including the honeymoon, which it’s understood the pair are delaying until Europe’s warmer months.
While in Europe, they will attend the 70th birthday bash for Symond aboard his new yacht in Monte Carlo in August.
