RUFFLED NEST AT EAGLES
INTERESTING times at Manly where a former employee has complained to the NRL integrity unit about the club’s administration and one senior official in particular. It’s been noted that no fewer than 22 staff have left commercial roles in the past 18 months — some fired, some of their own accord. An NRL spokesman declined to say if the matter was being taken any further.
“The last 12 months is not where we’ve wanted to be,” conceded chairman Scott Penn. “It’s a tough business. I understand there were some disgruntled people but I’m now happy with the direction we are taking.”
