LINDA’S RECORD ONE FOR AGES

VIC­TO­RIAN jockey Linda Meech cre­ated his­tory yes­ter­day when she guided Hulme to vic­tory in the first race at Wodonga. The win marked Meech’s 112th for the sea­son, a record by a fe­male jockey in Aus­tralia in terms of most win­ners in a sin­gle sea­son. DY­NAMIC Syn­di­ca­tions’ Dean Watt was cau­tioned by stew­ards yes­ter­day for us­ing foul lan­guage to­wards a trainer at Rose­hill a fort­night ago.

It came af­ter a protest hear­ing in­volv­ing the ri­val trainer and one of Dy­namic Syn­di­ca­tions’ horses. It is un­der­stood the trainer did not make an of­fi­cial com­plaint but stew­ards spoke to Watt about his lan­guage and re­minded him what he said was in­ap­pro­pri­ate.
