FAM­I­LIES and down­siz­ers bat­tled at auc­tion for a charm­ing Fed­er­a­tion semi known as Hol­ly­hock.

There were four bid­ders for the four-bed­room, three-bath­room house, at 7 The Cres­cent, and it sold for $200,000 above re­serve at auc­tion for $2.95 mil­lion.

A young Cre­morne fam­ily beat lower north shore bid­ders for the prop­erty on 277sqm of land.

Belle Prop­erty Mos­man agent David Smeal­lie said “buy­ers were happy to com­pro­mise on park­ing over con­ve­nience be­cause of the vil­lage liv­ing and walk­ing dis­tance to ev­ery­thing”.

Mean­while, at East Ryde, 14 flip­pers, ren­o­va­tors and fam­i­lies reg­is­tered for a two-level, three-bed­room fam­ily home. Ste­fon Ber­tram of McGrath Ryde said the partly ren­o­vated home at 14 Melba Dr sold $140,000 above re­serve at $1.94 mil­lion to an Ermington fam­ily who will knock down and re­build.
