Honeymoon A month travelling around South America

JOHN and Rowena met when they joined the same team at work and were soon inseparable, bonded by shared family values and a passion for fitness, outdoor pursuits and travel.

John proposed in November 2015 while holidaying in Maui, going down on one knee with a pearshaped diamond ring while visiting a beautiful waterfall.

Adopting a modern, elegant theme for their big day, the pair had their ceremony at St Joachim church, Lidcombe, before travelling to Sergeants Mess, Mosman, for a reception with 170 family and friends, including 35 who travelled from Canada, the US and the Philippines.

The couple had been set on a summer wedding but could not have anticipated that the day would turn out to be the hottest February day on record. But despite the 45C temperatures and car troubles that made Rowena 90 minutes late arriving at the church, the bridal party kept its cool throughout.

Champagne and a threecourse meal was topped off by a four-tiered chocolate and red velvet cake by Cakes By Cliff.
