Dead set to walk back in

The Sunday Telegraph (Sydney) - - INSIDER -

THE Walking Dead star Steven Yeun says he would be open to his character Glenn returning to the postapocalyptic cult television series.

Yeun’s character was recently killed off in a shocking scene after surviving six seasons as one of the core cast members. Glenn’s final words were “I’ll find you”, with some diehard fans speculating he will return to the series.

“I will leave it open to what makes sense,” he said. “I wouldn’t want anybody to force anything but if it makes sense, then I am totally down.”

Yeun (below), 33, is in town for the Supanova fan event at The Dome, Sydney Olympic Park, and will today walk the red carpet for the Sydney Film Festival screening of his acclaimed new Netflix film Okja which was lauded at the recent Cannes Film Festival.

He has got back-to-back films due for release over the next year, including animated feature The Star with Oprah Winfrey, Kristin Chenoweth and Kelly Clarkson, and thriller Mayhem with Australia’s Samara Weaving.

“I owe The Walking Dead my whole start,” he said. “I was doing theatre in Chicago, sketch comedy and improv, and then I moved to Los Angeles and that show opened the door to let me in to the business. Not only did it do that but it let me have seven years of really honing my understanding, my skills and growing.”
