Gareth’s back in the game
EVERYONE loves an NRL redemption story.
In Buzz Rothfield’s top 50 NRL players for 2018, there are four. That’s four players who featured in the annual list back in 2016 but didn’t make the cut last year.
Well, against all odds, they’re back.
Dragons playmaker and English international Gareth Widdop was ranked 25th in the 2016 list though, much like the Red V attack, fell apart.
But after a stellar 2017 season in which he scored 10 tries and notched 18 try-assists to make the Dragons the secondbest attacking club in the game, Widdop is back where he belongs in the top 50. And there are three other players just like him — from different clubs and different positions.
Check out where Widdop and the rest of Rothfield’s top 50 NRL players rank for 2018 in Tuesday’s edition of The Daily Telegraph.
