Unbridled adulation for the great mare

The Sunday Telegraph (Sydney) - - RACING -

GREAT sporting performances get cheered, particularly at the track. But when you’re Winx you get applauded. A big roar went up as the Chipping Norton field rounded the home turn but when Winx hit the front at the 300m, the cheers turned into a round of applause that lasted until the mare got well past the winning post.

However, it’s a shame only 9343 punters turned up to Royal Randwick yesterday considering one of the greats was on show and we’re in between the cricket and football seasons. The likes of Winx may not be seen for another 50 years … if we’re lucky.

The crowd cheers Winx.
