China’s fitting response
THIS is a hard one: Zimbabwe’s health minister is complaining that condoms imported from China are proving too small for his nation’s men.
“We import condoms from China and some men complain they are too small,” David Parirenyatwa told a recent HIV/Aids conference.
He said comfort was crucial. “The southern African region has the highest incidence of HIV and we are promoting the use of condoms,” he said.
Chinese manufacturers responded by saying they were planning to produce a greater variety of sizes.
