SPRIGHTLY Lass of­fered some re­lief to the ham­mer­ing pun­ters had taken by scor­ing a fight­ing win in yes­ter­day’s Bel Esprit Stakes.

Pun­ters wit­nessed three odd­son favourites in a row go un­der be­fore the win of Sprightly Lass.

Ki­wia started $1.80 favourite in the Gold Heath and ran sec­ond to $16 chance Self Sence.

At $61, Sam’s Im­age ac­counted for Na­ture Strip ($1.65) in the Gold Dash be­fore $1.55 favourite Cliff’s Edge was un­placed in the Sires’.

Backed from $3.50 to $3 in the Listed 1100m sprint, Sprightly Lass fought back after be­ing headed in the straight to beat Bons Away ($4.40) with Mal­ibu Style ($12) a nose away third.
