ENVY POLITICS IN SHORTEN’S BUDGET

The Sunday Telegraph (Sydney) - - OPINION -

Miranda Devine’s article revealing the Opposition leader’s duplicity is very timely (“Shorten shows he’s a silly sausage”, 13/5).

It uncovers the discrepancies in the Labor proposals in the Budget reply speech and the false defence of his MPs not being dual citizens.

It was also encouraging to see the appropriate condemnation from Finance Minister Mathias Cormann about Bill Shorten’s record as a politician who is running a blatant, dishonest, populist political agenda based on the politics of envy.

There is an urgent need now for the Coalition to continue to hammer Mr Shorten by exposing the weaknesses in the Labor policies and calling to account all the proposals they put forward. We don’t want another “Medicare” fairytale! BRIAN KEIGHRAN
