BEST Race 6: BET No.9 African Rainbow Is an emerging filly bringing good provincial form to the Bathurst meeting. She is only lightly raced and hasn’t been beyond 1600m but she should enjoy getting out to 2000m today. Drawn well and Greg Ryan rides.

NEXT BEST Race 1: No.4 Reason To Smile Has shaped well in each of her three starts, running a placing on each occasion. She can use her inside barrier to settle on the speed. After the claim, she gets in with just 53kg and is weighted to win.

VALUE Race 4: No.2 Achieved Her debut effort over 1000m at Wyong was sound as she worked to the line strongly to finish just behind the placegetters in the maiden won by Celer. Achieved is better placed today particularly over the 1300m journey.

JOCKEY TO FOLLOW Greg Ryan has ridden a century of winners already this season — he has done so every year this century except during the equine influenza outbreak in 200708 — and he has another strong book of rides at Bathurst including Drummed Out, African Rainbow and Wrong Bias.

TRAINER TO FOLLOW Bjorn Baker has a great strike rate at Bathurst and could easily lead in a brace of winners from his only two runners today, Achieved and African Rainbow.
