Colourful fun run to kick in for kids’ cause

The Sunday Telegraph (Sydney) - - NEWS -

SOME superheroes wear capes, others are covered head-to-toe in colour. The annual Colour Run returns to Sydney Olympic Park on October 7 and the hero theme for this year’s 5km fun run promises to leave everyone looking like they could leap a rainbow in a single bound.

Sprinter Katie Williams, who will lead the pre-event warm up, has even given people a taste of what they can expect by agreeing to be halfsplashed in colour for a Sunday Telegraph photo shoot.

“It’s a great day, full of life, hype and colour. Anyone can be involved. And it’s not too often you get to run around like a rainbow,” Williams said.

This year is the first time the event has officially partnered with a charity — the Starlight Children’s Foundation.

“We already have 9000 people registered, and we expect over 11,000 people to participate, including kids, adults and families,” Colour Run director of marketing Paul Mudge said. “So we’re encouraging participants to donate to the foundation.”

Those who finish the fun run will be rewarded with a festival of live music and dancing. WWW. THECOLORRUN. COM. AU
