Nothing Dubious about
DUBIOUS overcame a tough run to smash the race record and make racing history at Royal Randwick yesterday.
Trained at Caulfield by Ciaron Maher and David Eustace, Dubious is believed to be the first Melbourne youngster to win the Group 3 $160,000 Breeders’ Plate (1000m).
“It’s great to win. If it’s history that is even better,’’ Maher said.
The Breeders’ Plate is the opening two-year-old race for colts and geldings in Sydney each season.
It was first run in 1906 and has been won by some outstanding youngsters.
