Dubious ($19) drew wide and never got near the inside rail but finished fast to collar Covert Ops ($11) to win by a short head with Krameric ($7) 1½ lengths away third.
Winning rider Michael Walker said Dubious was “strong to the line”.
“He’s only a little horse but has a big horse’s action,’’ Walker said.
“The further he goes the better he is going to get,’’ Walker said.
