Actor’s estate nets $ 1.075m
THE Neutral Bay apartment of the popular actor Cornelia Frances was sold at auction yesterday for $1.075 million.
It was being sold by her only son Lawrence Eastland following her death earlier this year. Janet Morrison and Jon Snead at The Agency had two re registered bidders att tend the onsite auction w which had a $1 million p price guidance.
Auctioneer Thomas McG McGlynn secured the result under the hammer, despite there being just the one active bidder.
The property had been styled, with a large portrait of Cornelia Frances hanging as a tribute to Mr Eastland’s mother who was born in Liverpool in 1941.
The longtime Home And Away star (inset), known for her hardened persona in her many television roles, bought the apartment in 1999 for $335,000 with her then-husband Michael Eastland.
The two-bedroom Aubin St apartment in the tightly held 1970s L’Hirondelle complex overlooks landscaped gardens from its first-floor position.
