Ac­tor’s es­tate nets $ 1.075m

THE Neu­tral Bay apart­ment of the pop­u­lar ac­tor Cor­nelia Frances was sold at auc­tion yes­ter­day for $1.075 mil­lion.

It was be­ing sold by her only son Lawrence East­land fol­low­ing her death ear­lier this year. Janet Mor­ri­son and Jon Snead at The Agency had two re reg­is­tered bid­ders att tend the on­site auc­tion w which had a $1 mil­lion p price guid­ance.

Auc­tion­eer Thomas McG McGlynn se­cured the re­sult un­der the ham­mer, de­spite there be­ing just the one ac­tive bid­der.

The prop­erty had been styled, with a large por­trait of Cor­nelia Frances hang­ing as a trib­ute to Mr East­land’s mother who was born in Liver­pool in 1941.

The long­time Home And Away star (in­set), known for her hard­ened per­sona in her many tele­vi­sion roles, bought the apart­ment in 1999 for $335,000 with her then-hus­band Michael East­land.

The two-bed­room Au­bin St apart­ment in the tightly held 1970s L’Hiron­delle com­plex over­looks land­scaped gar­dens from its first-floor po­si­tion.
