SYDNEY’S social set made their way to Pyrmont on Thursday night to celebrate the first birthday of popular fried chicken haunt Whirly Bird.

The venue marked the occasion with a low-key soiree which saw guests imbibe an abundance of champagne, while munching on the joint’s much-loved poultry dishes.

Live jazz band The Low Down Riders provided the tunes throughout the night, before a special performance from the burlesque girls who frequent the venue on a Saturday evening, when it transforms into The Birdcage “a dinner show for grown-ups”. BRIANA DOMJEN
