PETER “Z “Zorba” Peters ended his 50-yea 50-year as­so­ci­a­tion with the Man Manly Sea Ea­gles with a fare farewell lunch at Manly 16ft Sk Sk­iff Sail­ing Club.

It was a fan­tas­tic a af­ter­noon of rem­i­nisc­ing, y yet not one of­fi­cial from t the Sea even Ea­gles Zorba’s turned nephew, up. N Not M Manly owner and ch chair­man Scott Penn, alth although coach Des Hasler called in late for a quick beer.

Pete Peters, 71, played in the club’s 197 1973 grand fi­nal vic­tory over the Cronulla Sharks and has been a board mem­ber, foot­ball club of­fi­cial and con­sul­tant since re­tir­ing.

The club’s most dec­o­rated cap­tains, Bob Ful­ton and Max Krilich, were there for the farewell.

This is the sec­ond ma­jor func­tion the Sea Ea­gles have brushed this year. Not one of­fi­cial turned up to the team’s 10-year re­union this year of the 2008 pre­mier­ship­win­ning side.
