BREAK out the template; Dunn wins TAB Highway!

Punters who only back Matthew Dunn-trained horses in TAB Highways were counting their blessings again with up and comer Tristan De Angel winning his second and last one at Rosehill Gardens yesterday.

In doing so, the son of Not A Single Doubt rendered himself ineligible for future TAB Highway success but Dunn has his eye on an even bigger prize next.

‘’He is eligible for the Country Classic over 2000m in a couple of weeks so we’ll just get him home and assess him and if Matthew chooses to pull that rein and come back down then, we will,’’ the stable’s Keira Dunn said.

Tristan De Angel was given the perfect ride by Tye Angland who has been a major contributor to Dunn’s unparalleled success in the Highway races.

‘’ We are always confident when we have Tye Angland on board, he is a lovely asset to the team and he gave him a lovely run during the race and was able to get the job done — again,’’ Dunn said.

“Tye started riding for us way back in the day when Madotti was going around in the Magic Millions and from there he has just built a really good relationship with the stable.’’

As for Angland, he gave the flashy chestnut the all clear for a rise in distance after consecutive 1400m wins at his past two visits to Sydney.

“Stepping up to a mile would be no problem at all, even going beyond that,’’ Angland said.

‘’It takes him that furlong to pick himself up and really get going so, over the 2000m, you can ride him a bit quieter and save him for

that last run.’’
