Sony set to get Sav­age

SAV­AGE Gar­den were one of the big­gest bands in the world dur­ing the 1990s, with more than 20 mil­lion al­bum sales — and now Sony Mu­sic has picked up not just their cat­a­logue but singer Dar­ren Hayes’ first two solo al­bums, in a deal with John Woodruff Man­age­ment.

Sav­age Gar­den’s hits in­cluded Truly Madly Deeply, I Knew I Loved You and I Want You and went to No.1 in 51 coun­tries. Sony chair­man and CEO De­nis Han­dlin said: “I am thrilled to wel­come Dar­ren Hayes and Daniel Jones back to the Sony Mu­sic fam­ily.

JWM boss John Woodruff said he was happy their mu­sic had a new home at Sony. “Dar­ren Hayes and Daniel Jones rep­re­sent all the best rea­sons as to why I was at­tracted to a life in mu­sic,” he said.
