Sony set to get Savage
SAVAGE Garden were one of the biggest bands in the world during the 1990s, with more than 20 million album sales — and now Sony Music has picked up not just their catalogue but singer Darren Hayes’ first two solo albums, in a deal with John Woodruff Management.
Savage Garden’s hits included Truly Madly Deeply, I Knew I Loved You and I Want You and went to No.1 in 51 countries. Sony chairman and CEO Denis Handlin said: “I am thrilled to welcome Darren Hayes and Daniel Jones back to the Sony Music family.
JWM boss John Woodruff said he was happy their music had a new home at Sony. “Darren Hayes and Daniel Jones represent all the best reasons as to why I was attracted to a life in music,” he said.
