Packer’s palace

The Sunday Telegraph (Sydney) - - THE BIG SQUEEZE - IN CABO

THE foundations have been laid for billionaire James Packer’s Mexican megamansion in the resort town of Cabo.

The Sunday Telegraph can reveal Mr Packer has combined three oceanfront blocks adjacent to the One & Only Palmilla resort to build a mansion expected to be completed by 2020.

Mr Packer frequently stays in the resort’s oceanfront Villa Cortez, and it was the first place he visited after completing rehab in a Boston psychiatric facility last year.

Mr Packer’s friend and right-hand man Ben Tilley is acting as project manager for the multimillion-dollar home and was overheard on Friday discussing the project with a friend.

One of the three blocks was listed for sale last year for almost US$7 million.

But while the combined blocks offer expansive views of the Sea of Cortez, they also overlook a large public toilet by the beach.
