The Sunday Telegraph (Sydney) - - THE SNITCH -

A SLICE of 2018 was buried somewhere on the grounds of St Mary’s Cathedral yesterday to commemorate the building’s 150th anniversary.

The time capsule contains a copy of yesterday’s The Daily Telegraph, various other newspapers and coins from 2018.

It was buried by Archbishop of Sydney Anthony Fisher OP and Dean of St Mary’s Don Richardson.

Father Richardson said its location would not be revealed so “perhaps some future generation will open it, or perhaps it will remain hidden until the end of time”.

After a fire destroyed the cathedral in 1865, it was rebuilt to become the largest in Australia.
