TEENS CAN WORK
It is concerning that imprisoned males are still treated as juveniles until they are 21 (“Riot teens sent to adult jail”, 16/6).
A week or two on bread and water for the serial offenders and wreckers while compulsorily learning about the history of our country and the hard work and sacrifices made by our pioneers and settlers might do a lot better than pandering.
As 20-year-olds in the 1960s, I and a lot of mates had already done a year in the army and were serving in the Vietnam War.
