Albo calls for Labor cultural change
LABOR leader Anthony Albanese has declared the need for cultural change within the NSW arm of the party, describing the evidence emerging from an ICAC inquiry as “extremely serious”.
While acknowledging the corruption watchdog had yet to finalise its hearings, the federal Opposition leader said it was clear there was a need for “substantial” change.
“This is extremely serious,” he said. “It’s clear there needs to be substantial cultural change in the NSW branch. But first and foremost, ICAC must be allowed to do its job.”
The comments come amid a political meltdown within the NSW branch, with angry Labor MPs baying for the b blood of those they believe had dragged the party once again into disrepute.
