The Sunday Telegraph (Sydney) - - SPORTS - BY JAMES PHELPS

BRENDAN ELLIOT 7 Solid at back and competently returned the ball. Fine fill-in for Tom Trbojevic.

JORGE TAUFUA 7.5 Another trademark hit — this time on Josh Morris — and scored a try to give Manly a shock 18-0 lead.

BRADLEY PARKER 7 Another tradesman-like performance and scored a first-half try. He contained Cronulla’s right edge.

MOSES SULI 7.5 Combined with Cherry-Evans to terrorise Xerri and Townsend. Scored Manly’s second try and always looked a threat.

REUBEN GARRICK 6.5 Defensive misread that led to a try was the only blot.

DYLAN WALKER 8 Was not as dominant as Cherry-Evans but was a perfect foil. Always a threat with fast feet.

D CHERRY-EVANS 9 Five-star performance for a player that has been accused of going missing in big games. Laid on two tries with sublime short-passing game.

A FONUA-BLAKE 9 Manly’s surprise hero. A barnstorming start set the platform for stunning win. Best forward on the park for the opening 20 and scored solo try in his second stint.

APISAI KOROISAU 8 Always dangerous and opened the scoring when he took advantage of a quick play-the-ball from Fonua-Blake.

SEAN KEPPIE 7 Big early hit on Gallen and charged hard. Didn’t look out of place playing a final in his second NRL game.

COREY WADDELL 6.5 A couple of strong runs on the edge. Plenty of hard work in defence.

Another tradesman-like effort.

JAKE TRBOJEVIC 8 No moments for his highlight reel but another hardworking 80.

MANASE FAINU 7 Always a threat. Troubled the Sharks with his speed and skill.

H OLAKAU’ATU 5 Little game time for the bench forward. Would have scored a try with first touch if not for an obstruction.

LLOYD PERRETT 6 Had a couple of big runs but not a huge workrate.

TOAFOFOA SIPLEY 6 Did what he was asked.
