Anx­i­ety has to per­sist for at least six months and be detri­men­tal to daily func­tion­ing to count as a men­tal dis­or­der (“New study proves HSC anx­i­ety is sky high”, 6/10).

Pre-exam anx­i­ety, on the other hand, is nor­mal and does not re­quire in­ter­ven­tion. HSC stu­dents would be bet­ter ad­vised to take Tay­lor Swift’s ad­vice and “Calm down!”
