Widdup woes in the past

The Sunday Telegraph (Sydney) - - RACING -

FOR a while, Brad Widdup was wondering when the luck was going to come his way again.

Bad barrier draws, no luck in running and a horse almost putting Akari through the running rail in a trial had left the trainer beyond frustrated.

But when his Snitzel filly won the Listed Reginald Allen Quality, he felt huge relief.

“It’s massive,’’ Widdup said. “We’ve been under the pump the past couple of months and it’s great for the supportive connections.

“We had a big first season and these are the races we want to win. She’s very well bred. Her mother is a half to Micky Isle.’’
