HOW THE RACE WAS WON

The Sunday Telegraph (Sydney) - - NEWS - Compiled by SHAYNE O’CASS

START

Sunlight, Mizzy, Fasika and Kolding were all quick into stride. Sunlight was sure to be three-wide the trip but used her superior pace to cross over and eventually find the lead on the fence. Brutal was midfield and wide at this point.

800M

Sunlight has the lead and is travelling well just past the halfway mark. Brutal is obliged to punch up and sit outside her given his outside barrier draw. Fasika sits in behind the speed with Mizzy close by. Kolding is ideally placed fifth on the fence.

400M

A line of three up front with Sunlight on the inside. Brutal is outside her with Irish visitor I Am Superman was threeout after making a bold move. Arcadia Queen gets moving in the running line, while Classique Legend has plenty to do.

200M

Sunlight has the lead by a length and looks like holding them off. Mizzy is making her run closer in. The aptly-named Behemoth looks very strong out wide while Kolding is still badly held-up behind horses and looks like he may never get out.

FINISH

Kolding bursts through the field 100 yards out to ambush a brave Sunlight in the shadow of the post. There was less than a neck covering the next three - $61 shot Mizzy, $101 pop Behemoth and favourite Arcadia Queen.
